Co-op Opportunities (Discussion)

Hi there,

I’ve heard of Fanshawe’s reputable co-op program and am interested to hear about others’ working experiences. What kind of placements have you had? Does the school provide enough support and guidance along the route to employment? How would you rate your past work terms?

Looking forward to hearing your stories!

    Co-op is really unique, in my opinion. I find that the placements you receive are closely related to your field of work and allow you to experience the challenges of working in the real world – and see how businesses work from day to day.

    Fanshawe provides a lot of great mentoring opportunities. There are tons of career services at Fanshawe College which will help you out:

    1. A program-specific Career Services Consultant with expertise in resumes, the interview and job search strategies;
    2. Resume, interview and job search information and support and advice on issues relating to Employment Standards and Human Rights;
    3. Free job search materials and literature;
    4. Computers for your online job search and for preparing employer correspondence;
    5. Resume faxing and phone service for employer contacts; and
    6. Employer on-campus recruitment and employment events including the annual Career Fair.
