Beginning of a new journey- College
Hi everyone! So summer vacation is coming to a quick close. I can't believe how fast it is going by, and I know that the days will only get shorter as the end of August approaches. As a student first attending college not only was I pumped but also scared, nervous and happy all at the same time. Also, there were so many questions going through my mind such as "Where do I get my student card?" "What if I get lost?" "How's life in residence?" A tour of Fanshawe College would answer most, if not all, of your questions. There are no words to describe what an amazing place Fanshawe College really is. As student ambassadors, Abby and I put together photos of most prospective students on the tours during the summers. "Pictures speak a thousand words". Through the pictures, you guys will see how friendly and involved the students are. Enjoy!

Judy (left) with a prospective student. The student who came in for a tour will be attending the Collaborative Nursing program at Fanshawe in September. Being a Nursing student, I could totally relate to her. During the tour, we were just talking and laughing like we've been friends forever. For a moment I forgot I was conducting a tour and not just hanging out with an old friend. She had the same questions that I had when entering my first year. I was able to tell her how awesome the program is, my personal experiences and the skills that I have gained throughout the program, both professional and personal. Like many students, she fell in love with the residence. She was amazed with the fact that there are two bathrooms in every unit since we all know how long girls take to get ready. She even took pictures of the rooms so she can buy stuff for decoration. Sum it up, we had a really good time and she can't wait to start in September.

Judy (left) with a tour group Conducting a tour is one of the things I love about being a student ambassador, especially when the students are engaging and asking a lot of questions. Although I had quite a large group on tour today, it was amazing. The group - three families - had never met before but they were talking and laughing like they had known each other for ages. The students were in different programs and had many questions. They were all very excited and looking forward to coming to Fanshawe in September. They got even more excited after seeing the residence. The girls were amazed with how spacious the rooms were. They took pictures and one of the girls asked me if she could move into residence the next day. In addition, they were more than happy to be a part of Fanshawe's Blog.
